How Does Search Engine Optimization Benefit My Business?

How Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing Benefits Your Business

SES, SEM, SEO; What's the Big Difference

For a lot of people new to the Online marketing business, these acronyms can be the difference maker between making money and wasting money. More importantly, the confusion of the three can cause one to not only not see the results that they are looking for, but ultimately hurt or eliminate their online business presence by not having the proper mix of the three.

1. Search Engine Inclusion (SEI), also knows as Search Engine Submission (SES) is the process of getting a website listed to the search engines. Although there are many automated search engine submission platforms, many of the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, Alta Vista, AOL, Alexa, Dogpile and several others will reject automated submissions. These search engines have to have your links submitted by hand. More so, the wait for a web spider to find a website without it being personally submitted can take upwards to 6-9 months or more. Note: Search engine submission is not a one time service. With new modifications to text, descriptions and headers required in SEO, SES will need to be redone to ensure the search engines have the updated info for your site listed in search results. Without frequent SES, it can takes months before Results of SEO can be honestly seen. We would advise monthly submissions during regular update periods and weekly submissions during heavy update periods to your website.

2. Search Engine Optimization ( SEO) is the process of making sure all webpages in a website have updated keyword relevant unique content, management of meta-tags, proper keyword density, Certifiable Backlinks; just to name a few of the primary components. Search Engine Optimization( SEO) is important due to the fact that it is one of the only residual traffic builders for your website. Higher ranking in Search Engine Results mean that you are going to receive more organic, free, traffic. This free traffic increases hit counters and make your site more active. This activity can further increase your site standings with the Search Engines. Big Deal Here, statistics Shows that 68% of Searchers NEVER look past the top 10 Rankings. That's nearly 70% of interested customers never look past the first page to find reputable businesses to spend their money with.

3. Search Engine Marketing should be last on the check off list of things to-do. However, it is perhaps one of the more long term processes. While Search Engine Optimization (SEO) will give you natural free traffic; many persons willing to pay for such traffic can do so with Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and will be listed as sponsored links above organic search results and to the far borders or the results pages. While these sites are paying for their position, many people only click the first few links which can often time be these paid search results. Furthermore, Search Engine Marketing is the only reality of truly mastering all of your targeted keywords. Few small businesses out there can create enough relative content to be fully optimized for top 3 listing for more than 10 keyword phrases. However in the real world, the average business can think of at least 50 keyword phrases that they want to dominate, hence the need for SEM.
